About Dock & Mooring Anchors General Information
Our high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic-encapsulated, solid-foam-core-filled buoys are made to last. An HDPE collar with 3” chain sleeve eliminates rust and corrosion and prevents failure of galvanized or coated metal components.
At Shuswap Marine Freight, we also offer galvanized chain, swivels, shackles, rope, rings, and a full range of mooring hardware. For new and replacement systems, please call us to learn more about our mooring set services. Installation comes complete with a concrete anchor, galvanized chain or rope, and our Enviro Float mooring buoy.
Please note that the buoyancy ratings listed below indicate the maximum floatation the mooring buoy will provide while fully submerged. The mooring buoy can support a weight equal to 50% of this value.
As a general rule, select a mooring buoy offering slightly over twice the amount of floatation required for the weight of the anchor chain that you will be using. (For example, 50 lbs. of anchor chain will require a little more than 100 lbs. of buoyancy.)
